A Christmas in Pictures - Holdun

Well, we survived having 4 grandchildren and Santa for 2 weeks of nonstop action. But what fun we had starting with the mayhem and chaos of Christmas morning and opening presents all together.

Then, after breakfast, it was off to spend time with Santa and his helper as if they needed more gifts and posing under the Christmas tree. With each of the children visibly vibrating with excitement, getting a good photo of all of them proved to be impossible.

In order to keep our sanity, we had enrolled all 4 in various activities which kept them out of the house and had the added benefit of keeping us at least upright by the end of the day.

And of course, they were further entertained by the colorful costumes of the Junkanoo dancers, whose movements they tried to emulate with varying degrees of success (or lack thereof).

The younger 2 couldn’t get enough of their older cousins especially when it came to video games, just what their parents didn’t want but hey, grandparents get a pass.

Beach activities were welcomed as it kept them busy for hours digging moats and castle as seriously as little architects, whilst their parents sipped rum dums, happy to have the time off. A well-organized swim meet kept their competitive juices flowing and they were rewarded with various medals.

Finally, a tearful farewell as the older cousins flew back to Canada, leaving the younger ones bereft of their beloved playmates and heading back into their school routines. Can’t wait until next Christmas. Thanks Santa.
